Are you looking for a Yamaha digital piano such as Yamaha YDP143R Arius Series Console Digital Piano?

The brand name, Yamaha, has become widely-known in music world thanks to its quality musical instruments such as pianos and guitars. In fact, Yamaha is the company that makes some of the best digital pianos in the world.

But did you know that Yamaha is actually a name, much like Ford, Toyota, Honda are the names of the founder of the companies?

Also, did you know that Yamaha that makes musical instruments was the same company as Yamaha Motor Co. that makes motorcycles?

Yamaha Corporation was originally founded by Mr. Yamaha in Shizuoka prefecture, Japan, in 1887 as Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd. (Japan musical instrument manufacturing company)

Mr. Yamaha (By the way, here is a little trivia for you. it is written as 山葉 where 山, which is “yama” meaning “mountain” and “葉,” which is “ha,” meaning “leaves” are combined.) was successful in repairing a reed organ in a local elementary school and decided to manufacture organs, which became the forerunner of current Yamaha Corporation.

In 1900, Yamaha started manufacturing pianos.

In 1955, the motorcycle division was separated into another company, Yamaha Motor Co.

Since 1950s, Yamaha started very successful organ classes throughout Japan, which became later Yamaha music classes that are popular even now.

Yamaha started producing electronic organs in late 1950s and then move on to pipe musical instruments such as the flute, clarinet, trumpet, etc. in mid 60s.

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the company, in 1987, the company changed its name to current Yamaha Corporation.

Today, Yamaha not only produces and sells acoustic and digital pianos and keyboards, and all kinds of other musical instruments from flutes to percussion instruments, but also provides sound systems, equipment, and music lessons.

As you can see, Yamaha has a long history in making pianos.
